I previously wrote about Virtual PC, off course we all know that this is the solution for a single PC environment. So how about the Enterprise needs ? Can Virtual PC help you use that application that only runs on Windows XP but in a Enterprise environment ? Yes this is possible with Med-V from Microsoft. Basically this still is Virtual PC but with some extra’s like:

Now that Windows 7 is on the market, people are switching to this new Operating System from Microsoft. The hardware you can buy nowadays is very powerfull and equipped with lots of memory. Even the 64 bit version of Windows 7 is a very good choice to work with, because of the capability to use more memory than the “normal” version of Windows 7. But one thing is a real headache for most of the people and that is application compatibility, at least they think it is. Luckily Microsoft invented Windows XP mode for that !

Part 1 the Citrix Secure Gateway.
The need for working remote is growing every year, but no company wants to connect their Xenapp or Xendesktop servers directly to the internet. This is where a gateway solution comes into the picture. Citrix understands this like no other and has provided quite a few possibilities to reach the virtual desktop on a secure and easy way. Basically there are 3 different types of a gateway available from Citrix.

Recently my company installed a edgesight server for the monitoring of Xenapp servers. During the installation I came across two important settings / tricks that I want to share. The first one took me quite a long time to figure out. The solution on the other hand is quite simple and effective.
